How to get involved
Raise funds
It costs £40 to add every potential donor to the register – if each member raised £40 that would raise enough to add 30,000 people, all standing by to save more lives.
- Choose Anthony Nolan as one of your charities to fundraise for over the next year
- Raise funds for Anthony Nolan through your annual events such as Bonfire Nights, beer festivals, golf days, and Santa sleighs
- Take on a challenge to raise funds, from running a 10K to taking on an overseas trek
Recruit potential lifesavers
Get trained up and recruit donors to the register. Currently 16% of the UK Anthony Nolan stem cell register is made up of young men, but they account for more than half of people called upon to donate.
- Become an Anthony Nolan Champion by recruiting donors to the register by running your own events
- Visit local schools and colleges to deliver talks and recruit students to the register
- Connect with your local Marrow group on campuses across the UK
- Use your contacts and networks to engage with young people – think sports clubs, youth clubs... you know your community best
Raise awareness
Spread the word! Shout about Anthony Nolan on social media and let everyone know about the fantastic work you're doing.
- Tell everyone on social media, share posts and stories and help raise awareness of Anthony Nolan’s lifesaving work in your community.
- Try to secure local press and publicity to promote activities you’re doing to support Anthony Nolan.
- Introduce Anthony Nolan to key contacts in your community, including schools, colleges and universities, to help us reach more people.
Round Table & Anthony Nolan
As we celebrate 50 years of saving lives and reaching the incredible milestone of making four lifesaving connections every day, we're delighted to have been chosen for this special partnership. Round Table has played a pivotal role in helping us get to where we are today and has been fundamental in helping us give more people another chance to live since the very beginning.
- In 1974 Shirley Nolan set up the register and Broadstairs Round Table raised over £20,000 to help Shirley organise the first donor recruitment clinic at Margate Hospital.
- In 1977, for their 50th Anniversary, Round Table raised over £120,000 for Anthony Nolan
- In 1986 Round Table recruited 100,000 new donors to the register within a six-week period.
- In 1987 during Round Table's Jubilee year, they raised £1 million to fund permanent laboratories for Anthony Nolan.
- In 1992 Round Table supported an appeal to help fund a new research institute, raising an incredible £350,000.
Now this partnership allows us to build on this incredible legacy of support and transform the future for even more patients.
