175 supporters took on the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon to help Anthony Nolan cure blood cancer. #TeamAN, who ran for a number of personal reasons, are on track to raise more than £560,000 for the charity.

Natasha Reid ran the London Marathon in tribute to the anonymous stem cell donor who saved her life when she was diagnosed with two types of leukaemia, at just three months old. Because of her donor, Natasha who is now 22 years old, is living life to the full. She graduated from York University last year and dreams of moving to Berlin and working in the charity sector

Dale Thomas, a soldier from Norfolk, completed the London Marathon wearing military uniform and carrying a 20kg stretcher, to show support for his wife, Nicola, who was diagnosed with blood cancer last year. To make his challenge even more difficult, Dale only returned to the UK from deployment in Kenya two weeks ago, giving him little time to train.

Tom Kopelman, took on the London Marathon for Anthony Nolan after we helped his dad, Peter, find a stem cell donor when he was diagnosed with leukaemia in December 2015. Peter is now doing well and was there on the day cheering Tom on. Tom has raised over £11,000 and is Anthony Nolan’s top London Marathon 2019 fundraiser.

Kirsty Mooney, Head of Community & Events at Anthony Nolan, said, “We are delighted to celebrate every member of #TeamAN running the London Marathon for us this year. With every mile completed they have provided hope, without them there is no cure.

'The funds they raise will enable us to recruit potential stem cell donors to the Anthony Nolan register – any one of whom could give a second chance of life to someone with blood cancer.'
