Anthony Nolan has become part of a major new cancer charity coalition to help improve the lives of children and young people with cancer.

The Children and Young People with Cancer (CYCC) coalition launches today with a letter to Health and Social Care Secretary Jeremy Hunt, co-signed by our CEO Henny Braund. The CEO led coalition aims to improve outcomes for children and young people with cancer through speaking up on issues that matter to them, having a unified voice and supporting each other as charities and CEOs.

The CYCC Coalition has 15 founding member organisations including Bloodwise, simPal, CLIC Sargent and Teenage Cancer Trust.

The letter sets out where members think progress has been made for children and young people and the areas where progress still needs to be made, such as increasing access to clinical trials and improving access to mental health support for young people with cancer and their families (see letter below).

Kate Lee (CLIC Sargent CEO) has been elected as Chair of the Coalition for two years and Frank Fletcher (Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust) has been elected as Vice Chair.
