Jacob's Journey

In November 2017 we were given the news that Jacob had Aplastic Anaemia, a rare blood disorder which is diagnosed in between 30 and 40 children each year.

On the 7th January 2018 we officially joined the Anthony Nolan stem cell register. Following this we started Jacob’s Journey in a bid to not only raise money but more importantly to raise awareness about stem cell donors and the amazing gift they can give to someone in need.

Anthony Nolan is a charity that is very close to our hearts as they provided us with hope when we thought all hope was lost. We were lucky enough to find a donor match for Jacob so that if he needed to go to transplant then we had the option available – others aren’t so lucky. So far we have taken on challenges including runs, cycles and climbing Ben Nevis and have raised over £20,000!

The next goal is to smash £25,000 in 2020. We already have a whole range of challenges lined up including:

  • London Landmarks Half Marathon
  • Edinburgh Half Marathon
  • Great North Run for the third year in a row!
