My husband Gary was diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma and received a stem cell transplant in March 2021. Sadly he passed away just a few weeks after the transplant.
In Gary’s memory, our children, Anna and Ross, and I took on this 154k hike in the Highlands of Scotland… although Gary would have never quite believed I would be able to complete such a challenge!
We set up a tribute page and shared our walk on this page. I wanted to have somewhere special to remember Gary. We got so much support from family and friends after he died, and I thought it would be a place to see how much Gary meant to people. It was helpful for me to create it.
We hope our efforts will help other families in the future, in Gary’s memory. I know if he had lived, he would have been fundraising too. It’s comforting to be able to visit the page and make a donation and keep his memory alive in that way. It’s a lovely thing to have.

How do I share my page with family and friends?
Once your page is created you’ll have a bespoke URL you can share with loved ones via email, WhatsApp and social media. You can also include the link in the order of service if you would like to offer a way for people to donate as part of the funeral or memorial service.
How long will my tribute page remain open?
Your page will remain open as long as you would like. It can be a lovely place to revisit at special times of year to add memories and keep it as a lasting legacy to your loved one.
Can I make changes to my tribute page once it is created?
You can make edits and changes to your page at any time. This includes the theme of your page, the images you choose to display and everything else connected to your tribute. This can be easily done in your page settings.
How can I develop my tribute page over time, and once the funeral has passed?
You and your loved ones can revisit your page at any time to light virtual candles or leave messages at special and poignant times of year, such as birthdays and anniversaries. If you, friends or family decide to fundraise or take part in an event in memory of your loved one, you can add these to your tribute to keep all activity in one place. You can also sync JustGiving pages directly to your tribute page, so all donations and messages are added automatically to your page, and contribute to your total raised.
