Will the person I’ve helped need me again?
You may be asked to donate again if your recipient needs a top up or another stem cell transplant:
- In about 5% of cases, a second stem cell donation is needed, and this is usually within a year of the first donation.
- In about 15% of cases, a top-up of white blood cells (lymphocytes) may be requested after your first donation. Lymphocyte donation could happen as part of the original treatment plan or where a recipient’s disease returns, and their body needs an extra boost.

Is the chatbot secure?
Yes. The chatbot is designed with your security in mind. It doesn’t store sensitive personal data or share your information. It’s a safe way to get help with general questions.
Can I use the chatbot on my phone, tablet or computer?
You can use the chatbot on most devices including desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones. As long as you have internet access, you can get support from wherever you are.
Can the chatbot help with complex or personalised queries about joining the register?
The chatbot is great for answering general register related questions, but for anything more detailed or specific to your circumstances, it may direct you to the Register Support team by sending an email to Register.Support@anthonynolan.org or by calling 020 7424 6567.
Can I access previous conversations with the chatbot?
The chatbot doesn’t currently store conversation history, so each chat starts fresh. If you need a record of your enquiry, we recommend saving any important information before ending the session.
How do I report incorrect information?
