Trushar is appealing for people to join the Anthony Nolan stem cell register – particularly those who share his South Asian heritage, and those from the Lohana community of which he’s a part.

"I’m having difficulty finding a suitable donor. Tissue types are passed down through ancestry, and people from the same ethnic group are far more likely to be a suitable match."

The word cancer conjures up many nightmares and my journey in dealing with this has been an emotional roller coaster. I’m therefore reaching out to everyone, particularly those in the South Asian community, to consider registering for stem cell donation to help me, and others in a similar situation, find a suitable donor.
