This Blood Cancer Awareness Month, join hundreds of others across the country on the Lifesaver Walk to fundraise and make a lifechanging difference.

This challenge is for anyone

Whether you’re walking in memory of a loved one you have lost, you’ve been a donor before, or you purely want to bring hope to patients and families, then you’re a lifesaver. That’s because by taking part, your fundraising efforts will help us to continue our work.

What is the challenge?

We’re asking you to join our Lifesaver Walk, take on some miles, and raise money to fund vital treatments and research into blood cancers and disorders.

You choose where you want to walk and who with.

Want some suggestions? Here are some ideas:

  • Walk along your closest beach or visit a local beauty spot
  • Pick a finish point that you might normally drive or get the bus to – maybe a favourite café so you can have a slice of cake to celebrate at the end
  • Walk laps around your local park, challenge yourself to see how many you can do.

Choose a walk that walk that suits you and your abilities

How to join

  • Choose a day to walk between 14th and 20th September
  • Walk by yourself or invite friends and family to join
  • Sign up and we’ll create your fundraising page for you
  • We’ll send you a free t-shirt and “I’m walking for” labels to pin to your t-shirt in the post
  • Plan your walk
  • Share your motivations with your loved ones and raise £400

Lifesaver Walk FAQs

When is the Lifesaver Walk?

Take part any time between 14th and 20th September 2026 and unite with other people across the country who are walking to save lives.

We’d like as many people as possible to take part on September 20th to celebrate Blood Cancer Awareness Month – but you can walk any day that week.

If you can’t join us this week, we’d still love for you to get involved. Check out our other events or reach out to our team by emailing community@anthonynolan.org

Who can take part in the Lifesaver Walk?

Anyone! You can walk by yourself, with your family and friends, or organise your community to take part.

On signing up, you'll automatically get a fundraising page for your walk. We’ll send you a free Anthony Nolan t-shirt and “I’m walking for” labels in the post so you can show everyone you’re part of the Lifesaver Walk.

What impact will you have?

It costs £40 to recruit a potential stem cell donor to the register. Every person added to the register could mean a match for a patient, which offers them a second chance at life. Read more about where money donated to Anthony Nolan goes.

How do I get my free Anthony Nolan T-shirt?

After you’ve signed up, we'll send you your exclusive cotton Anthony Nolan T-shirt to wear while you complete the challenge. It can take up to 10 working days for your T-shirt to reach you after you sign up, but please email us on community@anthonynolan.org if it doesn’t arrive.
