Final figures after Omaz-ing partnership
Thanks to the support of all of those who entered the draw, we’ve been able to raise a momentous sum that will help us save lives through stem cells for many years to come.
The partnership raised a staggering £3,700,000 for Anthony Nolan!
A truly life-changing impact
The Anthony Nolan Cell Collection Centre will soon be opening its doors, enabling us to get lifesaving stem cells to patients who need them without delay – giving them more time with the ones they love. The £3.7 million raised through our partnership with Omaze will mean the running costs of the centre will be covered for the next 18 months – providing 1,850 urgently needed lifesaving stem cell donations, each one giving a patient more time with the people they love… and ultimately 1,850 more chances to save a life.
Because when someone needs a lifesaving stem cell transplant, delays can put lives at risk. Currently, fewer than one in five donations go ahead when needed and the time it takes to transplant is still too long for too many people.
Tackling the issue
The Anthony Nolan Cell Collection Centre is dedicated to collecting stem cells quickly and getting them to patients who desperately need them. It also supports vital medical research and new treatments, helping to save more lives, faster, because when someone needs a stem cell transplant to save their life, we’re in a race against time.
We won’t stop until we save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. The Anthony Nolan Cell Collection Centre is creating 1,300 additional slots for amazing individuals to donate their healthy stem cells, either for transplant or for research into new treatments, easing pressure on the NHS, making transplants happen faster and increasing the potential to save many more lives in the future.
We know just how precious time is with the people you love and we’re thrilled the Omaze Million Pound House Draw, Cheshire, has raised an incredible £3,700,000 for Anthony Nolan, helping us get lifesaving stem cells to people with blood cancers and blood disorders.
