The Anthony Nolan Cell Collection Centre
Our new cell collection centre, which opened in 2025, is dedicated to providing apheresis services and ensuring the wellbeing of our donors.
The facility helps lifesaving stem cells quickly reach patients, alleviate supply chain bottle necks, and enables donations for cell and gene therapy research. With greater availability of vital stem cells and apheresis services, we can drive forward the future of medical research and treatment.
The centre, located within Queen’s Medical Centre, is run in partnership with the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Nottingham Clinical Research Facility (CRF) at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Anthony Nolan’s donors have already helped progress the development of treatments for blood diseases and other conditions. The new centre complements our existing facilities in Nottingham, including the cell therapy centre at Nottingham Trent University’s Clifton campus, which houses our umbilical cord blood bank as well as our processing and cryopreservation facilities.
