For someone with blood cancer, a stem cell transplant from a matching donor could be their last chance of survival. Their perfect match is out there, will you help fund the search?

Every year, over 2,000 people in the UK are waiting for a stem cell transplant. Anthony Nolan is the charity that searches for matching donors to give them a second chance of life.

But we can’t do it without your support. Your donations can fund more lifesavers and grow the stem cell register, so nobody is left waiting for their match. Without your support, there is no cure.

Without your support, there is no cure.

Every month, your £5 could pay for the swab packs to collect the DNA of five potential lifesavers.

£8 a month could help us raise awareness and encourage more potential lifesavers to join the stem cell register.

Community Fundraising

Your £10 a month could help to add three new potential lifesavers to the stem cell register each year.

Jo's story

Patient Jo Kelly - during treatment
Jo during her treatment

I have been given a second chance at life and I’m trying to make the most of that. Without him, I wouldn’t be here. That would have been the end.

Jo was diagnosed with  Hodgkin’s lymphoma when she was 22. After going into remission, her cancer sadly returned and she was told she had 6 months to live. Fortunately, a new treatment became available and it made Jo well enough to have a stem cell transplant, so her search for a donor began.

'When they first talked about a stem cell transplant, there weren’t any available matches for me. Then there was this unexpected remission – the doctors didn’t think it would hold, but I now had a window to have a stem cell transplant.

Because I’d not had matches in the past, we weren’t too hopeful that there would be someone, but there was – one single match. We were elated.”

Thanks to support from people like you, we found Jo her perfect match.

I’ve now been cancer free for seven years and last year, our daughter Phoebe came into our world. It’s the most special thing.”

In February 2020, Jo finally met Stefan, the man who saved her life.

What can you do to save more lives?

You can fund someone’s lifesaver and help to grow the Anthony Nolan register. Together, we can work towards a future where nobody is waiting for their match.

Your support can give families a second chance of life together. Without your support, there is no cure.

Can you join the stem cell register?

We recruit people to our stem cell register aged 16–30 because research clearly shows that the younger a donor is, the better chance of survival a patient has.

If you’re aged 31+, you can give patients the best possible chance of life by donating money to help to add the best possible donors to our stem cell register. Please fund someone's lifesaver today.
