Anthony Nolan is very pleased to announce that Alastair Stirling Boyle has been celebrated in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to charity, particularly Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and to the Anthony Nolan Partnership.
In response to the news Anthony Nolan’s Chief Executive, Henny Braund, said:
'We are incredibly proud of Ally for receiving an MBE for his charity work. He has spoken openly about his own experience of being diagnosed with blood cancer and worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the need for more stem cell donors to join the Anthony Nolan register.'
'Without Ally, the partnership between the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Anthony Nolan would not exist; let alone be the success it is with almost 11,000 young Scots joining the stem cell register. On behalf of everybody at Anthony Nolan, as well as the patients and families we support, I’d like to congratulate Ally on this very deserved honour.'
