Anthony Nolan has been selected as the new charity partner of www.skiddle.com, the UK's biggest what's on guide and a leading primary ticket agency.
Through their checkout donation schemes, their customers help raise thousands of pounds for charity – most recently they generated more than £14k for Macmillan Cancer Support.
With each ticket purchase, customers are given the opportunity to add a donation and now, every penny will go direct to Anthony Nolan.
Anthony Nolan was put forward by Skiddle’s Head of Content and Communication, Jimmy Coultas, who donated stem cells to his brother.
Jimmy said “We wanted to run with a charity that our customers felt connected to, and the over-whelming reaction from them was to go with Anthony Nolan. I've personally been affected as my brother has twice been diagnosed with leukaemia, the second time with him needing a transplant, and I ended up being his donor.
It's great that our customers feel so strongly about supporting the charity and we're confident this will be reflected via the checkout donations, which have been a hugely successful way of raising much needed funds in the past. Our customer’s generosity is always something we're very proud of, and what better time than the season of good will for this to be shown?"
As well as providing financial support, Skiddle are promoting Anthony Nolan in their newsletter and are encouraging their customers to think about joining the Anthony Nolan bone marrow donor register.
Laura Parsell, Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager at Anthony Nolan, said: “We’re delighted to have the support of Skiddle and their customers.
“Every penny raised will enable us to recruit more potential donors to our register and give more chances of life to people with blood cancer.”
