Twickenham resident Richard Jefferies is taking on the Virgin Money London Marathon in 2014 after undergoing a successful bone marrow transplant in 2011.

Richard, 45, says, 'Running was the thing that made me aware there was a problem in the first place as I was constantly exhausted. It’s something I still love to do and feel lucky to have the chance to do so.

'Last year I was at the Anthony Nolan cheering station so I’m sure running past them will keep me going if I need a boost. I’m getting on with my fundraising and the support has been brilliant so far.

'I will be thankful when it’s over, but I’m looking forward to giving something back to the charity that saved my life.'
