Surrey County cricketer Mark Ramprakash joined a host of high profile cricketers in a new charity initiative ‘Batting for Charity’, organised by County Championship sponsors LV=.
The new charity initiative will see Ramprakash display an LV= sticker on each of his bats for the remainder of the cricket season and in return, LV= will donate £250 to Anthony Nolan the UK based blood cancer charity, as nominated by Ramprakash.
The money donated by LV= will go directly to Anthony Nolan, which the Surrey batsman has been a supporter of for a number of years. The innovative charity facilitates the life saving stem cell transplants needed for those suffering blood cancers, by finding and matching donors. As well as this, Anthony Nolan supports the research needed to make transplantation even more successful.
Catherine Miles, Director of Fundraising at Anthony Nolan commented: “We are very grateful to the donation from LV=, it is very kind and will make a real difference to the work that we do. Mark has been a very vocal supporter of ours for some time but to have him championing our cause on the cricket field is just brilliant. Everyone involved with Anthony Nolan will be cheering Mark on for the rest of the season.”
Surrey County Cricketer Mark Ramprakash added: “I am very pleased to be able to support Anthony Nolan this season. It is an incredibly worthy cause; the support and help the charity offers people is second to none, so if my donation can contribute to the work they perform it’s the least I can do.”
Ramprakash joins a host of LV= County Championship cricketers, such as Sussex’s Luke Wells and Gloucestershire’s Jonathan Batty, taking part in LV=’s charity initiative.

We wanted to do something a little bit different and hope that the donations made will make a difference to the great work these charities do.”
