Anthony Nolan’s Patient & Families Forum is a place where people can connect with others and share tips and advice about life before, during and after a stem cell or bone marrow transplant.
We want to make the Forum a warm, lively place where people can post about their experiences of transplant. At the same time we need to make sure our members stick to the house rules – these make sure that the community is a safe and friendly environment where users can share information and offer support.
We’re looking for Online Community Champion volunteers to help us moderate the forum, to reply to others and start new discussions, to help make it a supportive and useful place for other patients and families.
You can be a stem cell transplant recipient, a family member, carer or a parent to apply. If you are a stem cell transplant recipient, you need to be a minimum of one year post-transplant.
Ideally, you’ll be available to volunteer a couple of times a week to check in on the Forum. This can be as often or as little as you like, and we will support you.
You will be supported in your role by our Patient & Family Engagement Coordinator by phone or by email. We can’t cover connection charges, but if you incur any other expenses as part of your involvement with the online community (for example, travel to attend meetings) we will reimburse these in line with Anthony Nolan’s expenses policy.
If the role you are interested in isn’t currently available, you can sign up for our role alerts and get emails about opportunities as they appear.
If you need any more information, or have any questions please get in touch on volunteering@anthonynolan.org or call 020 7284 8296.
If you’ve been affected by blood cancers or disorders and have ideas about how we can develop support and information, we would love to hear from you.
