Trusts and foundations tell us why they support Anthony Nolan
With many other worthy causes vying for their funds, our trusts and foundations explain their decision to support Anthony Nolan.
‘At the Jack Petchey Foundation, we want young people to play a full part in society.
Signing up to donate their blood stem cells is one of the greatest things they can do, as they could help save somebody’s life.
‘The Jack Petchey Foundation has supported Anthony Nolan with funding to add a further 11,000 stem cell donors to its register, and we are working in partnership to raise awareness and recruit even more new donors. We know that there is a shortage of young donors, especially young men and those from different ethnic backgrounds, and so we hope that our support will harness the energy of young people and enable Anthony Nolan to save even more lives.
‘Jack Petchey CBE is known as ‘The 50/50 Man’ and he believes strongly in the importance of charities, businesses and the community working together with a common goal. We would urge other charitable trusts, foundations or any other group of supporters to consider joining us in supporting Anthony Nolan. Together, we can give more people with blood cancer a last chance of life.’
‘The James Tudor Foundation has been supporting Anthony Nolan for a number of years, and we were delighted to provide them with funding to help establish the UK’s first charitable cord blood bank. Our aim as a grant-maker is to support the relief of sickness, and through our work with Anthony Nolan we are able to help save many lives from leukaemia and other devastating illnesses.
‘We would encourage other charitable trusts to join us and help save many more lives, by supporting this practical, forward-thinking charity to achieve its ambitious goals.’
