We are thrilled to partner with FDM Group - a global professional services provider with a focus on IT.
Launched in April 2018, this partnership will raise lifesaving funds and FDM Group will be encouraging their employees to join the Anthony Nolan stem cell donor register.
FDM trains and employs circa 1,000 graduates each year through their careers programme and has a hugely diverse workforce, with an employee base consisting of over 75 nationalities, which makes them a perfect match for Anthony Nolan.
We particularly need young people and donors from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds to join the register, to offer the best chance of a match for people who need a stem cell transplant. Only 60% of transplant recipients receive the best match; this drops dramatically to around 20.5% (one in five transplant recipients) if you're from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background.
Rod Flavell, CEO at FDM Group: “We have all been affected by cancer in one way or another and as a company we want to do something to help. We have a large and diverse audience we can promote Anthony Nolan to and hopefully, find volunteers who are matches for the 2,000 people in the UK who need a stem cell transplant every year. We feel that Anthony Nolan is a perfect match for us and will be encouraging our amazing employees, who regularly raise money for charities, to sign up to the Anthony Nolan register and help even more people.”
Henny Braund; CEO from Anthony Nolan says, “We are delighted that Anthony Nolan has been chosen as FDM Group’s charity partner. By working together to add much-needed diversity to the register we will improve the chance of everyone finding the match they need. Together, we hope to give more people with blood cancer and blood disorders a second chance of life.”
We’re so excited to have been chosen as FDM’s charity partner and look forward to working together on a variety of events and initiatives that will save lives for years to come.
