Thank you so much for thinking about supporting Anthony Nolan in memory of someone close to you. By doing so, you’re working towards a time when everyone in need of a stem cell transplant will find a donor and have the quality of life they deserve.
It can be hard to know where to start when it comes to commemorating someone’s life. A tribute fund offers a wonderful place to share stories, memories and photos with others. It will also help to raise vital funds for other people with blood cancer and blood disorders – creating a lasting legacy in honour of your loved one.
If you’re looking for an existing Tribute Fund, you can search here:

Many people ask for donations to a charity close to their heart in lieu of flowers at funerals. If you’re considering asking friends and family to donate to Anthony Nolan, we can help you.
We can provide you with donation envelopes for your collection or we can help you set up a page dedicated to your loved one where people can donate online. You can set up a personalised donation page here or use JustGiving.
If you would like to talk to someone about holding a funeral collection and request materials please get in touch.
In our virtual Memory Meadow, you can dedicate a donation to a loved one and share your special memories and photos. Your dedication will help to match patients and donors, fund ground-breaking research and leave a legacy of hope for future generations.
A gift in memory of someone close to you, whether it’s a one-off donation or a regular gift, ensures we can add more potential lifesavers to the register, offering more hope for people with blood cancer or blood disorders.
You might choose to remember someone by holding an event or taking on a meaningful challenge in their honour. Doing something together to celebrate the life of a loved one can be a wonderful way to mark their life and support each other. Whether you walk, run, swim, dance or dine, do it in their name.
Promising writer, Alice Byron, was diagnosed with a blood disorder when she was just 20 years old. Her incredible spirit, unfailing strength and way with words were captured in her honest and incredibly witty blog, detailing life at university with a serious illness.
Tragically her blood disorder quickly developed into leukaemia. Alice received a stem cell transplant in 2016, but sadly it wasn’t to be and she died just a few weeks later, leaving her blog readers, friends and family totally devastated.
In honour of Alice’s indomitable spirit, her family and friends resolved to carry on raising awareness and vital funds for a cause she was truly passionate about. Alice’s family received £5,000 in donations from her funeral and Team Alice has been raising money ever since, doing everything from a charity netball match and the Bath Half Marathon, to setting up Marrow (our university network) groups in Winchester and Bath universities – recruiting an amazing 600 potential lifesavers to the register in just a year. Over £75,000 has been raised so far in Alice’s memory – an incredible total honouring a very special person.
