Oh hi there. Yes, I’m Hardeep Singh Kohli and I’m on a mission. A mission to recruit 2000 donors to the Anthony Nolan register in London.

Why? I hear you cry. Well, every 23 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with blood cancer. But quite brilliantly it can often be treated. Treated with a blood stem cell or bone marrow transplant. And that’s where Anthony Nolan steps in: to find a patient the right stem cell Match.

So for my part I’ll be scouring the streets of London for healthy young men. And what do you need to do - healthy young men of London? Spit. Yes it’s that easy. You do it enough on the football pitch and every other paving slab, so do it in a test tube. You’ll go onto the register and you could potentially save someone’s life. Hit play to find out more.

GOB FOR GOOD

Posted by Hardeep SK

Right. So I’m reckoning the young men of both Birmingham and London may well be heading home to their television, or to a big screen at their local drinking hole this evening (England Spain, anyone?). But that’s no reason to put the mission on hold.

In fact, Anthony Nolan have a lot in common with the England football team. No, not empty trophy cabinets. Both of them are rather fond of spitting. But while gobbing on the pitch doesn’t do much good (except for dehydrated worms), spitting into an Anthony Nolan spit kit is a rather different story.

Your spit (and a simple form) is all Anthony Nolan need to get you signed up to their register. Which means they can find out if you’re a match for anyone needing a blood stem cell transplant, and you might end up saving a life.

So #gobforgood, and click here to sign up to the register.

We’re working with the Jack Petchey Foundation for our Man on A Mission campaign in London. And here’s a message from Jack about why it’s so important to get involved and ‘give a spit’.

SATURDAY TEASER

Black cabs, jellied eels and over half the world’s population of club-footed pigeons. It can only the country’s capital city, London. I’m here, and I’m on a mission to recruit 2000 people to the Anthony Nolan stem cell register. All you need to do is spit to join, yes spit - it’s that easy. London I know you can do it (I’ve seen it from the window of the 38 bus).

I’ll be pitching up across the city to cajole you into donating, and generally making a tool of myself. Watch the video to find out where, and other secrets of the cosmos.
