We generate our own funds through hard work, initiative and dedicated supporters like you.
We rely on financial support from individual and organisations. However, our main source of income is from the fees we charge for donor searches on our register, for patients both in the UK and overseas. We are experts in tissue-typing and one of the leading authorities on stem cell transplantation, so we also offer molecular analysis for medical professionals.
Our total turnover is £22 million per annum, and £6 million of this is voluntary income.
Here’s the breakdown:
- Corporate fundraising raises £412,000, which includes Charity of the Year partnerships
- We get £3,708,000 in donations from individuals. This includes events such as the London Marathon, the Great North Run, and international challenge events. It also includes all our regional fundraising activities and events such as local runs and abseiling
- We raise £825,000 from selling tickets for events such as the Daisy Ball as well as raffles and other competitions
- We receive £82,000 from other charitable trusts
- We receive £958,000 from legacies
