Register and Be a Lifesaver (R&Be)

Planning your future can be hard work. But it’s easy to give someone else a future by joining our register when you reach 18.

R&BeRegister & Be a Lifesaver (R&Be) is a pioneering scheme that helps young people discover how they can save lives through stem cell, blood and organ donation. Watch a short video to find out more.

Volunteers go into 6th forms, colleges and clubs where they talk to young people about how they could one day save a life.

Inspiring young people – how it all began
Adrian SudburyR&Be is an inspirational project that is the legacy of an inspirational person – Adrian Sudbury.

Adrian (pictured right) was a young journalist with leukaemia who believed that many more lives could be saved if young people were informed about what it means to donate. He presented a petition to the prime minister and senior government ministers and in 2008 the R&Be team started to roll out the initiative to schools. Sadly, in the same year, Adrian lost his battle with leukaemia.

Get involved with R&Be
From the volunteers who host talks, to the young people who choose to donate – the R&Be team work with lifesavers every day. So, whether you're a young person, a teacher or a potential volunteer, find out more about how you can get involved– you might just help save a life.
