Nearly 40 years ago, Shirley Nolan planted a small acorn – to develop the world’s first bone marrow register. Since Shirley began the charity Anthony Nolan in honour of her only son, it has grown into a mighty oak, and continues to go from strength to strength.
It costs just £100 to put somebody on the Anthony Nolan register – anyone of whom could provide the blood stem cells that could help save a life from cancer like leukaemia which is the biggest childhood cancer in the UK.
Please take part in Anthony Nolan’s Harvest appeal this year. Your church can provide NO GREATER gift.
What you can do:

Hold a collection for Anthony Nolan’s work

Hold a harvest service using our service pack for help. It has a talk outline, shopping list, children’s activities and case studies.

Get fundraising inspiration and tips on how to organise a fundraiser

Display a poster on your church notice board and tell everyone about your intended support

Send your church’s donation to us remembering to include the church’s name and address so that we can thank you all

Tell us if you did anything interesting with your community to raise funds and awareness and we would love to inspire others with your fundraising story
Since the charity was founded we have provided 10,000 stem cell transplants for people with blood cancers, but more is needed. Sadly, for each person we can find a matching stem cell donor for, there is one we cannot.
