Leave a lifesaving gift

Anthony Nolan helps save the lives of people with blood cancer. If you are thinking of leaving a gift in your Will to charity, then supporting our work to help save the lives of people with blood cancer could have a huge impact on children and families across the country.

Thanks to our supporters we have given 8,000 people the chance of life by matching donors to people in need of a blood stem cell, or bone marrow, transplant.

Despite all of our success to date, currently, we can only find a matching donor for half the people who come to us in desperate need of a lifesaving transplant. We want to provide a lifesaving transplant to every person with blood cancer who needs our support, but we can only do this with more funds.

A gift in your Will could help us provide many more transplants to people desperate need. People like Ella.

Little Ella’s had a lifesaving transplantLittle Ella can live her life
At 3 months old Ella Paul was diagnosed with leukaemia having been pale, anaemic and ill. This was a big shock to her mum Jacqui: ‘When we first found out, it was just one of those moments where you almost can’t believe it, to have leukaemia, particularly for a child – how can a three-month old have cancer?’

It was a very difficult time for the family – as Jacqui remembers: ‘The doctors were quite blunt and said that the chances of Ella making it through were quite low.’

The family were told that a bone marrow transplant was the only option left for Ella. But as Jacqui says: ‘We were worried we would be waiting months for a match but Anthony Nolan found Ella a perfect match in a month!’

The transplant went well, there were some complications but now Ella is back at home and has recovered really well. For Jacqui the situation is simple: ‘Anthony Nolan’s basically saved our daughter’s life. If it wasn’t for Anthony Nolan then Ella most probably wouldn’t be here.’

If you could help us with a gift in your Will, this could mean we would be able to provide many more people like Ella with a lifesaving transplant. To find out more about how to support us in this way please see our useful information page. Or if you have any further questions contact us.
